Hi there,
It's Friday, which means it's time for The Small Batch, my weekly note on skincare, small simple swaps, and the stuff I'm actually loving. Grab your coffee, this one's short and sweet.
This week's simplifier
Last week I said your routine shouldn't take longer than your coffee takes to cool. Here's the other half of that: the serum already sitting on your counter is probably doing about half the work it could.
Same few drops. Three places.
Your jaw is not the finish line. Keep going down your neck. It's in every photo you're in and it almost never gets touched.
The backs of your hands. They're out in the weather all day, every day, and they tell on us first.
Wherever your skin feels tight. Elbows, cuticles, that one dry patch you keep meaning to deal with.
Nothing new to buy. Nothing new to remember. You're just not stopping short anymore.

This one's a little outside my usual, and I'm a bit delighted about it. I'm working with a bird feeder brand right now on our lifestyle account (if you want to check out our "over 50" lifestyle videos I'll link them in the PS below), through the brand and a WalMart campaign, which is kinda crazy but also I bet you'll love this.
Here's why it's on my mind this week and not in January: the birds that stay here all winter are picking their spots right now. Chickadees, cardinals, the little nuthatches that hang upside down like they're showing off. If there's food in your yard before the cold really sets in, they find it, they remember it, and they come back all season. Hang it in February and you've mostly missed the invitation.
We're personally hanging it hoping for our favorite cardinals to stick around all winter.
